2.3 Business Model


At the core of of our business model lies a subscription service for schools and the home market. Monthly and yearly subscription plans are available, as well as Pay Per View media content and mini games, distributed via the “Professor S.” platform.

Hardware (like the Time Portal) which supports the gameplay will also be sold. The hardware is intended to create customer loyalty and bring the digital gameplay elements into the real world. Customer loyalty is an important means to maximise the duration of the subscription. The time portal is not essential to playing the game, but it offers a series of attractive bonus features. Every “Professor S.” episode ends with a cliffhanger which is resolved at the end of the  task. The personal communication between teacher and students stimulate collaboration and social bonds. Friend features and private messaging will be built into the platform. Through continuous delivery of new learning content, media and personal messages, we expect a relatively long duration of the subscription (10-12 months).

A clear pricing structure and low entry costs in relation to the customer benefit should result in a relatively high turnover rate. With an entry fee of just 1,99 EUR/month (19,99 EUR/year) for the home version and 89,99 EUR/year for the school version, the inhibition level for a purchase is relatively low.

The subscription levels are segmented in three options:

Basic (1,99 EUR/month, @Home – 89 EUR/year, @School)

This version offers access to the message functions and tasks, as well as the  ”Professor S.” episodes. At this level, the user has the opportunity to purchase film and game content on a Pay Per View and Pay Per Use basis for the price of 0,49 EUR (@Home) or 4,99 EUR (@School) per transaction. If the sum of these purchases exceeds the price of a Plus or Premium subscription, no further fees incur for the ongoing month and the user is upgraded to a Plus or Premium subscription.

Plus (3,99 EUR/month, @Home – 189 EUR/year, @School)

This version offers access to all functions of the Basic version plus all film content including the documentary and entertainment films. Here, the user has the possibility to purchase game content on a Pay Per Use basis for the price of 0,49 EUR per transaction. If the sum of these purchases exceeds the price of a Premium subscription, no further fees incur for the ongoing month and the user is upgraded to a Premium subscription.

Premium (4,99 EUR/month, @Home – @School included)

This version offers access to all content on the platform, including all learning and entertainment games.
